"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

Proof of the Reality of God: Day 3

Before we continue on our journey through this series on the "proof of the reality of God," I would like to share something with you. Saturday, at the end of his comment on my post "The Man Behind the Quotes (Re-Post)," Daniel wrote these kind words:
If you continue following Rogers' book or any other material from him as any kind of proof of anything after this, even knowing he is a lier, then you, Tommy, are a fully deluded person, somebody that is unable to recognize the truth but instead a person committed to blindly follow other person false teachings.

If that is the case, I am fully disappointed from you, and I will stop reading your blog or trying to dialog with you, because the time I am expending in that is not worth of it.
Daniel's comment was referring to the excerpt that I posted from Adrian Rogers's devotional What Every Christian Ought to Know, in which Daniel accused Adrian Rogers of lying about the translation of the word "circle" in Isaiah 40:22. You can also see that he plainly warned me that, if I continued to quote from Adrian Rogers, he would no longer read this blog. However, I refuse to heed his warning.

You see, I believe Daniel only said what he said because he knows that Adrian Rogers was a man of honesty and integrity and the his devotional book that I have been quoting from contains the Gospel truth. I believe that Daniel only said the things that he said because he is already being convicted by the Holy Spirit and knows without a doubt that God's Word is true. My prayer is that he would continue to be under conviction as he continues to read what Adrian Rogers had to say about the inerrancy of the Word of God and that he would leave his sin far behind and come to Jesus before it is eternally too late for him.

The life of every creature is in its blood.
Leviticus 17:14

A little known fact is how George Washington, the father of our country, died. He was sick, so the physicians bled him. When he didn't get well, they bled him again. When he still didn't get well, the bled him a third time. Without realizing it, they bled him to death!...

Today, rather than removing what they thought to be his "bad blood," they might have given him a blood transfusion. That would have been in keeping with what God had said long before: "The life of every creature is in its blood."

I apologize for posting so late. It really wouldn't hurt for me to learn how to better manage my time.

  1. @Tommy,
"Daniel accused Adrian Rogers of lying about the translation of the word "circle" in Isaiah 40:22. You can also see that he plainly warned me that, if I continued to quote from Adrian Rogers, he would no longer read this blog. However, I refuse to heed his warning."

I do not accuse Rogers for lying just because I don't like him; instead I DO presented you in several comments REAL EVIDENCE that demonstrate what I say. But, clearly you are blind to evidence.

I said what I said because I DO READ what Rogers said, and I DO CHECKED this Rogers’ affirmation:

“Isaiah, in 750 BC, talked about the "circle" of the Earth, using a Hebrew word meaning "globe" or "sphere." Long before man knew it scientifically, God had already revealed it”

I did point you to the evidence that the Hebrew world “chug” used in Isaiah 40:22 is only translated as CIRCLE, but never to GLOBE of SPHERE. Which Evidence? STRONG Exhaustive Concordance #2338 and #2339 proof beyond any doubt the word “chug” only translates to CIRCLE or COMPASS.

But I could provide you with two additional and lapidary evidences:

    --FIRST--
If “chug” is the translation for “sphere”, there should not be a HEBREW WORD for sphere or ball. But guess what: that word DO EXIST: It is “dwur” (STRONG #1794), and it translates to “ball”, so that is a perfect word to describe Earth’s shape, if Isaiah and God were really willing to say so “long before ken knew it scientifically”. But strangely Isaiah and God missed that word… Could we blame that “dwur” was used as “ball” in a different epoch, or in a different historical context? No we CAN’T, because the word “dwur” is used by Isaiah himself at 22:18: “He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country”.

Therefore, the Isaiah/God usage of “chug” instead of “dwur” proves they were really taking about a flat circle, not a ball.

    --SECOND--
If I want an example of the typical Christian strategy of cherry pick a verse, phrase or idea to use it out of context to commit a logical fraud then I will use Rogers example. Why? Because if you really READ the whole verse 40:22 you find:

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in

If you want to stretch the heavens as a curtain, and spread it as a tent, that ONLY HAS SENSE if you place the tent, with the fabric (heaven) over a FLAT SURFACE, surrounding the “flat circled shaped Earth”, so the tent acts like the “vault of heaven” for somebody dwelling inside the tent floor (flat earth); but if you consider that the circle is instead a “sphere”, now the Isaiah text has NO SENSE: You cannot wrap a tent around a ball, floating in the air, and the dwell inside it. Can you? And if you simple suspend the ball “on the air” and put around a tent also floating in the air (keeping the tent shape), suddenly you have the bottom of the ball will have NO HEAVEN (no curtain, no tent, no vault of heaven) under it, to whatever you define as below or bottom for that ball. And as we know the sky is around the whole planet, so saying that “a sphere surrounded by a tent” is a “scientific accurate description” for earth and space is ASININE!

It is just required to READ, to honestly read Isaiah to realize that he couldn’t be talking of a sphere, globe or ball when he said circle (“chug”) in 40:22. There is no other honest choice.

  2. Then, after considering all the evidence that for THIRD TIME I PRESENT YOU: the normal translation of the word “chug” (circle, STRONG #2338, #2339), the existence of a specific Hebrew word “dwur” (STRONG #1794) for ball, but not used by Isaiah in 40:22, and the internal evidence of the context of the whole verse, PROVES BEYOND DOUNT that Isaiah 40:22 CANNOT be translated, interpreted or think as “sphere”, “globe” or “ball” in any honest sense.

But instead Adrian Rogers asserts that “chug” means “sphere” IN THE HEBREW, against the real Hebrew translation, the text context and the known word usage.

If Rogers were a simply ignorant Christian, I could say he was simply wrong, because he cannot know that level of detail (but Hey! It took me 10 minutes to realize that and I am not even Christian; Was it so difficult?). But he was a professional evangelist! He cannot be unaware that he was misusing the words at that level. Therefore the only conclusion I have is that he wanted to delude Christians and he was lying.

    ------

Well, Tommy. You also are also using the technique of cherry picking what I say, pointing to my “accusation” while ignoring the evidence (that is third time I show you) and even not mentioning that at all. You are not refusing to heed my warning. You are refusing to honestly see the evidence.

Your answer shows you are unable to see and recognize truth from falseness even when you have the evidence in front of you, but you simple prefer to “refuse” the evidence and embrace whatever you already believe even if it is false.

With that said, I do assert it has no more sense to continue trying to talk with you wasting my time. Good bye.
