"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

The Ultimate Payday

For the wages of sin is death;
But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23

If you have a job of any kind, I am sure you always look forward to payday—the day your wages for a week’s worth of hard work are paid to you. Well, the Bible tells us that there is going to be an ultimate payday at the end of each of our lives. That will be the day that we will receive our wages according to how we lived our lives upon this earth. If we lived righteously, the Bible promises that we will receive life; however, if we lived sinfully, the Bible promises that we will receive death.

You see, the Bible says that the pleasures of sin will only last for a season. At the end of that season you will receive your just reward, but I promise you will not want it. Do not think that you will be happy in Hell because all of your friends will be there, because that is simply not so. Jesus said that the rich man begged Abraham to send someone to warn his family. Trust me; you do not want the gift that sin will provide.

There is another side to the story, however—a glorious side. The Bible promises everlasting life to all those who place their trust in Him. Please, if you have yet to trust Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, do so today. If you will simply turn from all sin and trust in Christ alone to save you, He will save you today and keep you saved forever!
