"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails..." -1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Do you know what true love really is? I'm sorry to tell you this, but true love is not a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. True love is actually not a feeling at all; true love is a decision. And since God is the author of everything, His definition of love is the only definition that really matters. So over the next several days, we will be taking a look at 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 to see what God says true love really is.
Day 1
God says that true love is patient and kind. Jesus said that the greatest of all the commandments is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Do you always rush through life, paying no attention to those around you? Are you quick to help others without being asked? If not, you have broken what Jesus called one of the greatest commandments.
So slow down a little bit today. If you stay focused, God will give you enough time to do everything you need to do today. Don't neglect to show someone you care today.
