I am currently reading a book entitled Hard to Believe by John MacArthur. While reading today I came across this very interesting paragraph:
Please, wake up to the fact that, if you have not made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, you would end up in Hell if you were to die today. I don't want that to happen to you. God doesn't want that to happen to you. Just repent of all sin and place your trust in Jesus Christ to save you. God will forgive you for your sins and grant you everlasting life.
Do you want to know whether Jesus is who He claimed to be? First, you must come to grips with His diagnosis of your spiritual condition. Confess your utter sinfulness. Deny yourself, and give Him your life. That's the only way you'll ever know. Do you see yourself among the poor, prisoners, blind, and oppressed? If not, you can witness all the miracles under the sun, real or fake, you can see the whole parade of show-and-tell, and it's not going to convince you. There's only one way to know that Jesus can save your soul from hell, change your life, and send you to eternal heaven with all your sins forgiven. That one way is to be honest and desperate enough to admit your sin. That's the only kind of person Jesus can save. Take your meager, wicked life and hand it over to Him, and see what He does with it.Atheists say that they can't believe in God because they have no evidence that He is real. Wrong! You can't believe in God because you don't want to believe in God. The evidence of God's reality is all around you, but you can't see it because you refuse to see the reality of your own life. Until you admit that you are indeed a sinner in desperate need of a Savior, you will not see the reality of God's existence.
