"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

What the Atheist Really Means When He Says, "There is No God" (1/12/2011)

"Atheists really mean they don't want God, rather than they believe there is no God." -Adrian Rogers

I believe the above quote to be true. Let me give you a verse to explain why. John 3:19 says, "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." The "light," of course, is the Lord Jesus Christ. The lost, even the religious, hated Him because He exposed them for what they really were--sinners. The atheist is no different; he denies God because he loves his sin, and doesn't want God to take that away.

You see, you can't be a Christian and not love righteousness and hate sin. However, the atheist loves sin and hates righteousness. So when Jesus says, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me (Luke 9:23)," the atheist refuses. But Ray Comfort couldn't have explained the atheists refusal any better when he said, "When you reject God’s mercy in Jesus Christ, you aren’t rejecting a religion. You are rejecting the most precious thing in the universe--life itself."

There is only one way to Heaven--Jesus. All other ways lead straight to Hell. All you have to do to be saved is to repent completely of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life. He will forgive you for every sin you've ever committed and grant you everlasting life. Then read your Bible daily and obey what you read. God will never let you down!

Really? I think that quote is plan wrong. There are a lot of atheists that wanted to find God. I should add myself to that list. Actually, there are a lot that were not only christians but also leaders. Had you ever hear of Bart Ehrman or Dan Barker? You should expend reading some of their books before taking that Rogers' quote as granted...

So then, if we wanted God on our lives, why are we atheist today? Simply, because when we started investigating the root of the christian faith, and we expected to find solid ground of truth, instead, we found nothing but hot air. You may not believe it, but there are atheist that when started with doubts, they put they hearth looking for the truth; the most they investigated, more they realized christianity cannot be true. Some of then have PhD in divinity! Does that say something to you?

    > The atheist is no different; he denies God because he loves sin, and doesn't want God to take that away.

You can't be more wrong. Atheist do not _deny_ God, as if we know God exist and it is real, but we lie (even to ourselves). If you preach to "that" atheists, you will expend your live doing it and that kind of atheist will not answer, because, if they exist, are the very umprobable exception.

What mainstream atheists think is that there is NO valid reasons, evidence or proofs to think that there is a personal supernatural God, or gods. That is why we are a-theist and not ana-theos.

Do you want the most of atheist hearing you and converting them to christianity? Then study why what you believe _is_ true, and present us valid evidence that God exists and what the bible says is fully true with no errors. When I say valid evidence, I mean evidence than doesn't requiere faith, but considering its own value proves your point.

If so, you'll save not one or two "lost" atheist, but thousand or million of them... Do you want God congratulating you for that? Try it!

If you don't do that, you are losing your time.
