"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

Just Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus (1/7/2011)

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
No doubt we've all heard the lyrics to this wonderful old hymn entitled "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus." However, how many times have we actually paid attention to the words of the song? There's a whole lot of truth in the above verse. But how many people have actually claimed it?

We get so busy in our daily lives that we often forget to spend time in His Word or go to Him in prayer. We get so caught up in our jobs, school work, and social lives that we kind of just put God aside until we really need Him. But the truth is that there is never a time when we don't need Him. We need to learn to get our priorities in order!

But when we stop focusing on the trivial, mundane things of this world and start focusing on God and fulfilling His purpose for our lives, then we can accomplish more than ever. Adrian Rogers once said that God has given us enough time in every day to do everything we need to do. I believe that because I have seen it in my own life. When I focus on accomplishing God's will for that day, I can accomplish far more than I ever can when I just focus on all of the stuff that I have to do.

Whatever it may be that you are facing right now in your life, give it all to Him. Put your focus completely on Him and He will see you through.
