"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

God Has Not Stepped Aside! (8/4/2010)

Maybe you're here today and you're thinking to yourself, "Well, there could be a creator. But if there is, he has stepped aside from his creation and has absolutely no control." If that is you, the following is my message to you:

I know with all of my heart that God is real, Jesus is real, and that God takes care of His children; and absolutely no one could ever convince me otherwise. God somehow loves this world so much that He gave His only Son that we might be saved from our sins and live with Him forever in Heaven. God did not create this world to just step aside from it and not care. He created because He had the need to love and be loved. God loves! God heals! God provides! God protects! And God convicts and punishes evil. Nowhere in the Bible does it say otherwise.

The only reason anyone could ever think that God stepped aside from His creation is that a god that has stepped aside from his creation couldn’t possibly punish sin. And, if that god can’t punish sin, it gives us an excuse to sin all we want. The root of all disbelief in the God of the Bible is sin.

So, if you believe that God created and then simply stepped aside, I pray for you and others like you, that your eyes will be opened to the truth. I pray that you will see the reality of the sin in your lives, and be convicted. And I pray that you will come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord of your lives before it is eternally too late for you.
