"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

Atheist's E-mail (3/29/2010)

The following is an e-mail that Ray Comfort received from an atheist. He shared this e-mail in last week's weekly newsletter from Living Waters. This absolutely made my day the first time I read it because it shows a person that is living for the Lord in a way that even an atheist can see that he loves Him with all of his heart, soul, mind, and strength. I found this e-mail to be very encouraging because it shows that people are happy to hear what you have to say as long as they can see that you genuinely care about them. Ray Comfort genuinely cares about where people spend eternity. I think we all can learn a lot from Ray and others like him.
Dear Ray (if you ever read this), I am an atheist. When my sister first came across The Way of the Master website two years ago, she just had to send me two clips on Evolution and Atheism that had been posted there. Together, we, as obvious non-Creationists, first became very angry-- but soon our anger turned to laughter, the more we watched these clips. We thought these were the work of completely wacky fundamentalists whom nobody in their right minds would believe. For some reason, though, after watching these mini-movies a few times, we couldn't resist exploring the website and learning what fame-induced mania had befallen "Mike", and who was this guy with the moustache, anyway? We soon found that there was a Way of the Master TV program, and we decided to DVR the whole series, for what we thought would be a good laugh...So that is what became of the first episode. We joked about what we would say if you approached us on the street with your questions. But as we continued to watch over the weeks, our laughter slowly dwindled... we watched your program at breakfast, on lazy weekends, every day!--with rapt attention and occasional comments and discussion. Everyone around us assumed we were keeping up some elaborate mock-fest for much too long, but that is not how it ended up. It ended up that we truly, truly enjoyed listening to what you and Kirk had to say about God. I have learned to admire your faith and your attention to the details of the Bible--not changing the words to make yourself feel better, but telling it like it is. And you know where you came from and where you will go, and nothing can stir your faith! I have read much of your blog, from its innocent beginnings, to the turning point of the atheists flooding the comment pages... and as I read the hateful things the atheists say to/about you and God, I want to assure you that we are not all so closed-minded and hateful. I appreciate everything you are trying to do for us. I admire your unwavering faith, your tolerance and humor, and I know you will never give up on the atheists! Thank you for opening my mind.

Please pray for this anonymous atheist, that God would continue to use Living Waters ministries in a great and mighty way in their life and that they would get saved before it's eternally too late for them.
