"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

Trusting vs. Believing (4/23/2010)

Have you ever heard someone say, "Oh, they're a Christian...they believe in Jesus." This mentality is not biblical. The Bible says that we are saved by turning from our sins and trusting in Jesus to save us. Most of the time, when you ask someone if they're going to Heaven, they'll say, "Yeah, I try to do the right thing. I think I'll go there." They might believe that Jesus was a real person, but they have yet to put their trust in Him. They're still trusting their "goodness" to save them.

Are you trusting in your "good" deeds to get you into Heaven? If you are, please wake up to the reality of your sin today, and transfer your trust from your "goodness" to Jesus. You won't regret that you did.
