"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

One Awesome Ministry (6/16/2010)

I stumbled upon Love Worth Finding Ministries about a month or so ago. Love Worth Finding is the ministry of Dr. Adrian Rogers. Dr. Adrian Rogers is in Heaven now, but his ministry continues to live on. The ministry replays his audio and video messages on radio, television, and online. I have been watching and listening online ever since I found out about the ministry. And what a blessing that has been!

I enjoy listening to Adrian Rogers because he was one of those people that just tells it like it is. He didn't leave anything out. I found a video on YouTube where he said that someone once told him that if he did not compromise they "would never get together". He responded by saying, "We don't have to get together. The Southern Baptist Convention doesn't have to survive. I don't have to live. But I will not compromise the Word of God."

Many preachers today only preach what will make the people feel good. However, Adrian Rogers was not one of those people. Frankly, a lot of his messages that I have listened to are somewhat depressing. But all of them have been extremely encouraging.

By encouraging, I don't just mean uplifting. A message can be encouraging without being uplifting. Encouragement can also means urging someone to do the right thing.

If you are looking for a preacher that only preaches "feel-good" messages, then you had best stay away from Adrian Rogers. However, if you are looking for a ministry that stands behind the Word of God (all of it), then Love Worth Finding is the one for you.
