Have you ever heard someone say "that was an answer to prayer?" Or perhaps you've even said it yourself. To be completely honest, I hate that phrase. I am also not very fond of the phrase "say/said a prayer" either. Now, let me explain why I don't like those phrases. Prayer is simply a one-on-one conversation with God. If we are saved and have a personal relationship with Him, we can go to Him at any time about anything. When you have a conversation with another person, you don't say that you said a conversation; that wouldn't make sense. No, when ou have a conversation with someone, you simply say that you talked to that person. Why should it be any different with God? Now, think about what happens when you ask for something from another person. Are they silent and wait for days, weeks, or months to answer you? No, they answer you right away. It's the same way with God. I think we too often think that if God doesn't give us exactly what we ask for right when we want it, then he didn't answer our prayer. We don't want to accept the fact that God does know other words besides
yes. Sometimes God will tell us
yes, but often times He tells us
no or
wait too. We just have to be patient and know that no matter what God tells us, His answer is always perfect.
