"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

The Way to Holiness (5/30/2010)

"Holiness is not the way to Christ; Christ is the way to holiness." -Adrian Rogers

Maybe you're here today reading this, and as you're reading you are thinking to yourself, "If Heaven is real, I will certainly get in because of all the good I have done while on earth." Well, I am here to tell you that you're wrong!

This blog is entitled Good News for Atheists, so here is the good news. If you were to die right now, you would end up in Hell. It don't matter what you've done while on this journey called life; if you don't know Jesus as Savior, you will not see the kingdom of God.

However, the good news is that Jesus came. Jesus died. Then, three days later, He rose from dead defeating Hell and the grave. If you humble yourself, turn from your sin (repentance), and trust Jesus as Lord and Savior of Your life, He will save you from your sins and your name will be written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Then, and only then can you experience true holiness.

So, today, I invite you to do three things:
1) Humble yourself (realize that there can be nothing holy about you apart from Christ)
2) Come to Jesus
3) Trust Him to help you to go to war with your sin. For apart from Him, you can never experience true holiness.
