"The key to understanding the Bible is to look for Jesus in the Bible. Jesus is the hero of the Bible. If you read the Bible and don't find Jesus, re-read it! The Bible has one hero, His name is Jesus; one villain, that is Satan; one problem, that is sin; one solution, that is salvation. That is what the Bible is all about." -Dr. Adrian Rogers

What If We Prayed? (5/9/2010)

2 Chronicles 7:14- If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

What do you think when you read that verse? Well, it says, "turn from their wicked ways." So, it must be talking about the lost, right? Wrong. God said, "If My people who are called by My name..." He can't possibly be talking about the lost here because Christians are the only ones who bear His name. John 1:12 says, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." So this verse is clearly talking about born-again believers.

So, Christian, are you doing your part? Are you constantly going to Him in prayer? Are you lifting up our nation? Are you lifting up the lost?

Prayer is a wonderful thing, but God's not going to act upon it if we don't use it.

To be continued...
